New Zealand Trip 2016

Hey there!

This would be my first blog post *yaaaaay!*, and I decided to start it off with a short intro on my New Zealand holiday trip in 2016, since it's what prompted me to create this blog anyway. 😉

So here's the back story:

I was a graduating student in law school, and I'm in a long distance relationship with my boyfriend who is currently residing in New Zealand. At that time, we had not seen in each other for more than a year so imagine the longing we both have to be together again.

Philippine bar examinations are known to be grueling; it would usually take 5-6 months to review and prepare for it. With that in mind, we decided to have a short vacation together after I graduate from law school and before I start to prepare for the bar exams.

But why New Zealand?

As I've mentioned, my boyfriend resides there; his family migrated to NZ back in 2012. Being in a long distance relationship --- it sucks big time. I have always wondered about his life there, of what is it like to be there, you know? He'll share stories and I'll see photos, but we both know it's not enough. I had to be there and experience it for myself.

And sooo.. we figured, why not? He lives there and knows his way around. Only one of us had to fly out so it'll cost less in terms of airfare, etc.

South Island

In case you don't know yet, New Zealand has two major landmasses: the North Island (aka Te Ika-a-Māui) and the South Island (aka Te Waipounamu ). The South Island has a greater land mass and is often referred to by the locals as the "mainland".

And for our three-week vacation, it comprises mainly of the South Island, as my boyfie had not been there, too and we wanted to see the Southern Alps, maybe experience some snow. We traveled from Christchurch, to Tekapo, then to Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau, Invercargill, and all the way to Dunedin. Yeah, it's one heck of a road trip around South Island and it was definitely fun!!!😁

P.S.

This blog is created mainly to be my travel diary of some sort, but if it helps you in any way then that would be great, too. So if you want to know more about my New Zealand Trip (itinerary, suggestions, experience, etc.), feel free to browse and click on my other posts. And if you have any questions, suggestions, inquiries, just post it in the comments and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Until the next.

Peace, love and doggies,
Bely♡
